Hunting Season: While the winter months of June, July and August are the most popular months to hunt in South Africa, the bow-hunting season in Linksfontein is open year round. Your bow-hunting trip will be tailored to your needs. The temperatures are always pleasant. It is usually sunny and warmer than 20°C.

In winter (June to September), it’s temperate and dry.

In summer (November to March), it’s warm and rather humid with temperatures above 25°C. It can rain during the summer months, but it won’t be long before the sun shines again.

Species: We offer an extensive list of Southern African species that you can choose from. Many of those not appearing on the trophy list are available on application in other areas. We have access to some of the best Big Game hunting areas in South Africa.

Accommodation: You will be lodged in one out of nine luxurious air-conditioned rooms, of which five are double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Great hosts, true South African cuisine and high level of service make this bow hunting lodge one of the very best for archery in Southern Africa.

Hunting and terrain: A wide range of African animal species roam in a mineral rich, rocky and limestone terrain which produces some excellent trophies. Bow Hunting is generally done from bow hunting blinds, but if you prefer to stalk the animals with your bow, this is also very doable. However, keep in mind that a longer stay may be required to bag your animals because stalking them with your bow is a much more challenging hunt.

How to get there: The best way to reach this bow-hunting lodge is to book a very short flight to Kimberly or Upington through Johannesburg. (Or contact us to book it for you). Should you choose to overnight in Johannesburg before flying to Kimberly or Upington airport, we can arrange superb accommodation close to OR Tambo international airport at very reasonable prices. Typical Itinerary:

·      Arrival: You will be picked up at the airport in Kimberly or Upington, South Africa upon your arrival and transferred to the hunting lodge. Depending on the time of arrival, you will either enjoy a relaxed “African style” evening or begin your bow-hunting journey.

·      A Typical Bow Hunting Day starts with a wake up call early in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, you will be accompanied with an avid professional bow hunter to your comfortable blind, where you will hunt your desired trophies until lunchtime. Following a true South African meal, you will head back to your bow hunting blind and hunt until dark. You will return to the lodge to a nourishing dinner to share your hunting stories with your fellow archers.

·      Departure: You will complete your paperwork and billing information for your trophies and taxidermy… After a farewell South African brunch, you will ride to the airport in Kimberly or Upington to catch your return flight home.

A Management Team, Master Taxidermist and 21 Professional staff members will guarantee that your valuable trophies will be expertly handled, mounted, crated and exported safely to your final destination of choice. This privately owned taxidermy studio is is one of the very few facilities in South Africa that can proudly boast a state-of-the-art full house tannery in its spectacular 21,528 square feet area. This enables a fast turnaround time of only six months from the day of final instructions and receipt of deposit until delivery to the export company.
