Hunting Season: While the winter months of June, July and August are the most popular months to hunt in South Africa, hunting season in the Northern Cape is open year round. Your big game hunting safari will be tailored to your needs. The temperatures are always pleasant. It is usually sunny and warmer than 20°C.

In winter (June to September), it’s temperate and dry.

In summer (November to March), it’s warm and rather humid with temperatures above 25°C. It can rain during the summer months, but it won’t be long before the sun shines again.

Species: A wide array of South African dangerous and plains game species are available. Please take a look at the trophy list for more information.

• Gamagara: Gamagara is situated in the middle of the Green Kalahari, near the small town of Dibeng. Once you experience a majestic African sunset seen through the branches of a LARGE Camelthorn Tree, you will understand why so many people fall in love with Africa!!!

How to get there: The best way to reach here is to book a very short flight to Kimberly or Upington through Johannesburg. (Or contact us to book it for you). Should you choose to overnight in Johannesburg before flying to Kimberly or Upington airport, we can arrange superb accommodation close to OR Tambo international airport at very reasonable prices. Typical Itinerary:

• Arrival: You will be picked up at the airport in Kimberly or Upington, South Africa upon your arrival and transferred to the hunting lodge. Depending on the time of arrival, you will either enjoy a relaxed “African style” evening or begin your bow-hunting journey.
• A Typical Hunting Day starts with a wake up call early in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, you will be accompanied with an avid professional hunter where you will hunt your desired trophies until lunchtime. Following a true South African meal, you will head back to the bush and hunt until dark. You will return to the lodge to a nourishing dinner to share your hunting stories with your fellow hunters around the campfire.
• Departure: You will complete your paperwork and billing information for your trophies and taxidermy… After a farewell South African brunch, you will ride to the airport in Kimberly or Upington to catch your return flight home.

·      Firearms importation fees into South Africa – Johannesburg/Kimberley & Upington airports

·      Hotel accommodation before and after the safari

·      Packing, dipping and shipping of trophies to final destination

·      Medical & travel expenses – please have own travel and medical insurance
