Dagestan Tur hunting in Azerbaijan is one of the most extreme hunting and mountaineering experiences in the world! Climbing the impressively steep mountains of Azerbaijan requires great physical condition and fortitude. You really need to be in "Tur shape" to pursue the Dagestan Tur. Many consider it to be the most challenging of all mountain game hunts. For those requiring a less physically demanding hunt, we have one area that can be hunted on horseback most of the time. While you can expect Turs between 26 and 39 inches, any size of a Dagestan Tur trophy is something you can ve very proud of. Apart from being in great shape, you don't have to worry about anything. We will provide the local hunting guides, assistants, cooks, vehicles, horses, base camps, food, lodging and interpreters. Most of the hunting outfitters require the hunter to bring his own sleeping bag and tent on this hunt. TRIP SPECIFICS
How to get there: After arriving to the capital city of Azerbaijan 'Baku', we recommend that you stay one night in the city to relax and get ready for the next couple of days. On day 2, will be ground transferred (4-5 hours drive on good roads) to the hunting area. After that, you will jump on a truck into the Caucassus mountains to get to hunting camp.
Hunting Season: Your Dagestan Tur hunt can be arranged anytime from the 1st of June until the 31st of December.
Species: Dagestan (Eastern) Tur is the main species when hunting in Azerbaijan. There's also Bear, Caucasian Chamois, Roe Deer and Wild Boar.
Accommodations and food: Normally, you will be staying in one of the several well-equpped hunting camps (furniture, kitchen, generator and trophy care facilities are all available). There is also a full-time cook who makes traditional European dishes. But If going during the early season, you may hunt using fly camps where you sleep in a sleeping bag under your tent in very remote areas. For this type of hunting, you must be physycally and mentally prepared, as you will be eating very basic food (Meat, vegetables, etc.) and sleeping in a very modest tented camp.
Typical Itinerary:
*Your Dagestan Tur Hunt is generally a 5 hunting days trip
Day 1: Arrival to Baku... Overnight at the hotel.
Days 2: Transfer to base camp
Days 3 to 7 : Full days of mountain hunting for Dagestan Tur (The hunt stops as soon as your Dagestan Tur trophy is taken, unless you want to hunt another trophy or some other species).
Day 8: Drive back to Baku so you can catch your return flight back home.
